Ken began writing part-time in 2005 and became a full-time writer in 2013. On the 31st January 2014, he published his first novel Blood Prize featuring Tom Fox and the sinister Cel Rău half twins, Uta and Réz. Ken is currently at work on two new books: The Leviathan and Balaam’s Deceit, both featuring many of the original Blood Prize characters.

Ken was born in October 1956 at the Mercy Hospital in Albury, Australia and grew up in the nearby Murray River town of Howlong, where he completed his early schooling. The diverse complexity of his environment proved to be a young man’s adventure paradise and is where he developed a lifelong love of the natural world. He spent much of these years exploring the wild streams and rivers of the area, from snow-capped mountains to semi-desert plains, providing a rich diet of experience for a hungry imagination. 

After his primary education, Ken attended Albury High School, where he excelled in sports and the daring art of absconding from any and every class other than English Language and Art. After a reading of Charlotte’s Web by a teacher and also finding and reading a copy of The Scarlatti Inheritance by the late great Robert Ludlum, he became aware of the wondrous nature of stories.

Ken’s love of a good story may have originated from Harry Osborne, his beloved late Grandfather, who could exaggerate an uneventful walk beside the river into ‘The Old Man and the Sea’.  

With his wife Katie, Ken has completed many treks and climbs in Australia and abroad, such as bagging multiple peaks in Scotland and Wales, conquering the Overland Track in Tasmania Australia, Mt Toubkal (4167m) in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, The Lycian Way in Turkey (510km), the Mera (6476m) and Island Peak (6189m) via Amphu Labsta pass (5845m) trek in Nepal, and the Milford, the Travers Sabine and the Queen Charlotte tracks of New Zealand. They have also tackled ice climbing on Franz Josef Glacier in the South Island of New Zealand, and rock climbed at Dali in the southern Chinese province of Yunnan, also at Krabi in southern Thailand, and in the Grampians and Arapiles in Western Victoria.  

Ken lives and works with his wife Katie in the small country town of Freeburgh in North East Victoria.
